Debra Winger and The Sultan of Swat

Apparently Debra Winger has a son named Gideon Babe Ruth Howard. Obviously, this is an absurd name to give a child, but it is a whole lot better than the moronic celebrity names being thrown around now, Apple, Destry, Kyd, Moxie Crimefighter, Sage Moonblood and so on. Sage Moonblood is the name of one of Sylvester Stallone’s kids and between the last sentence and this one I’ve decided it’s the best name ever. Sage Moonblood Stallone, boy or girl?

I am deeply troubled by the fading presence of Babe Ruth in our culture, so I appreciate Debra Winger’s efforts, but it really is a stupid name.
