See Chameleon Lying There In The Sun

May 7, 2010

You know what’s great about blogging (or otherwise publishing) anonymously? You can do and say certain things that you might otherwise be slightly sheepish, or perhaps even embarrassed, about.

Like what? Well, you might go on about how you love Peeps in all of their shapes and forms, particularly when they are well-aged. You might write about your obsession — and love for — your fantasy baseball team(s). And much, much more. Just stay tuned and you’ll see lots of those kind of things here.

But today we’re here to talk about a song that I love that — to this day — still surprises me. I love “Run Runaway” by Slade. I swear I do, and I have for decades. Hey, it even got as high as #20 on the Billboard charts (I’ll leave Casey Kasem for another post).

Plus, Slade is entirely underappreciated. While everyone and their brother knows the version of “Cum on Feel the Noize” by Quiet Riot, everyone forgets that Slade came out with the original back in 1973. Some respect, please.

So, without further ado, Run Runaway:

Just wait until I finish work on my Boney M. homage…
