Duke Snider and Rasputin

June 11, 2010

Why are people so colossally gullible and stupid? It’s very distressing. I’m going to leave the world of politics alone for the moment, though lord knows it’s amazing we’re not all rolling around in radioactive mud eating dirt based on what people seem to believe, what they can be convinced to do and who they vote for. Today’s nonsense comes from the world of sports; the McCourts, the bickering and soon to be divorced couple that own the L.A. Dodgers employed some sort of Russian channeler/healer/what have you, to help the team.

After making an impression on Mrs. McCourt by “healing” her eye, Mr. McCourt decided that this was exactly the kind of help the Dodgers need. Seems Mr. Vladimir Shpunt, a former Russian physicist, has, for some reason, 10-15% more energy flowing through him than normal folks. And he’s able to direct these energy flows towards people, even over great distances, to help them, heal them, and, I don’t know, lay off the high cheese. It is the world’s great fortune that he has decided to use his abilities for good and not evil (excepting the Dodgers, who fall squarely in the evil camp). So, the Dodgers employed him to sit in his house somewhere in Boston, watch the games and send positive energy.

Anyway, I could ramble on about this nonsense, but I really can’t add more than the actual details.

I don’t know how we ever made it this far.
