At the Movies

September 14, 2010

In a new feature here at The Half Empty Glass, we will be reviewing movies. They may not always be current releases, they may be classics, festival films that did not have wide distribution, movies from our youths, or simply recent movies that we just feel like talking about. Here is today’s review.

Inglorious Basterds (Release Date 21 August 2009, Director Quentin Tarantino): What a piece of shit movie this was.

So I’m guessing this is a thumb’s down? I suggest “Wag the Dog.” I watched it last night for the umpteenth time and loved it once again.

Hey, I liked Inglourious Basterds. Brad Pitt carving up Nazis and shit. What’s bad about that?

There was about 10 minutes of action. The rest was people sitting around drinking schnapps or eating strudel. Had there been more Brad Pitt and more Nazi carving I could have gotten behind it. But man, it was like a dumbed down version of My Dinner with Andre, except with Nazis.

You have to admit the fire in the end was pretty awesome.
