Two absolutely fantastic photos of Williamsburg in 1906 (before the damn hipsters showed up) are up at Shorpy’s.

The bank is still there on the corner (now an HSBC I believe) and if you squint you can maybe see Peter Luger’s under the El.

Great stuff.

    Those are great shots and they do look like real life black and white Magritte paintings.
