ANIMAL chides Four Loko for fleeing New York:

Four Loko Cowardly Bows Out of NY
Thanks to a few isolated incidents and lots of negative media attention, the company that makes Four Loko is voluntarily ceasing shipments of its alcoholic energy drink to New York. Phusion Projects reached a deal with the State Liquor Authority whereby they can still peddle their non-alcoholic versions, but not the kind blackout-seekers want. They also got suckered into funding all sorts of alcohol awareness programs even though they won’t be selling their product here anymore. The Empire State, safe again.

If you’re unfamiliar with Four Loko, they make “energy drinks” that contain about 12% alcohol, and come in nine luscious flavors (fruit punch, orange, grape, watermelon, blue raspberry, kiwi strawberry, lemonade, cranberry lemonade and lemon lime).

Wikipedia helpfully adds that “Watermelon Four Loko also contains FD&C Red #40”.

So after coming under political pressure, those lily-livered wimps at Four Loko are pulling out of the Empire State. I mean, if New Yorkers don’t deserve access to caffeinated carbonated Kool-Aid with 12% alcohol, who the hell does?

And if Chuck Schumer hates it then it must be good.
