The Greenleaf Deli

December 29, 2010

The Greeleaf Deli is located on the Southwest corner of 85th St. and Amsterdam Avenue. It looks like many other corner delis in the city, convenient, yet you (I) can’t quite imagine that anyone actually eats their prepared foods or sandwiches. It is possible that they are a cut above the usual, they do look a little cleaner and brighter, but I have to confess that I’ve never been.

Several of their specialty sandwiches are advertised with photographs in the window. Here are a few:

That’s some sad looking lettuce, and the meat is a little grayer than I usually like.

Far be it from me to presume that anything we say here is supposed to have a point. But just out of curiosity: what’s your point?

No point. I just like the photographs of the sad looking and poorly named sandwiches

I love the “United State.” I wonder which one they mean?

Not to mention the “United Nation”.
