Cane Toad

January 7, 2011

The Cane Toad was introduced into Australia in 1935 as part of an effort to control the Cane Beetle. I don’t know if the beetle was controlled, but the toad was not, and has been spreading across the country ever since. My problem with the Cane Toad is that it is really big, eats everything is poisonous and also really big. It’s no flying snake, but I wish giant 5 pound toads that live for 35 years weren’t running/hopping around.
