It’s a Company

Tom Snyder was great. I don’t mean he was actually great, he wasn’t. There was something a little off kilter about him, he had this very proper, broadcasty way of talking, a loud crazy sort of laugh, and, well, he was just sort of weird. But incredibly entertaining. He was great. Below is one of his classic interviews, it is with John Lydon and Keith Levene of PiL. It’s fantastic.

    Off kilter is the perfect description of Tom Snyder and the Tomorrow show. I loved watching that show because the guest’s were always varied and Tom Snyder at times went from being clueless to being a great interviewer. Here’s another one with Iggy Pop:

      Watched that video too. And you’re spot on, he pinballed between being able to really get into it with his guest and acting like somebody’s grandfather interviewing, well, Iggy Pop and John Lydon.
