Lots of stuff going on in Egypt, I hear. But since we’re all grammatical and shit here at THEG these days, I noted a little tidbit in all of the coverage that was new to me.

What are residents of Cairo called? Apparently, Cairenes.

I hadn’t the foggiest idea. I knew about Liverpudlians, apparently residents of Cork are Corkonians, Edinburger is pretty good, likewise Glaswegians and Sydneysiders (more here). But Cairenes? Who knew?
