The Bronx

March 2, 2011

I was trying to find some pictures of the Bronx from the 1980s, specifically abandoned buildings where the city had sealed the windows with metal on which was painted a homey domestic scene–curtains, a plant, etc. I didn’t find any, I have a rather short attention span, but I did come across this collection of photographs from the 80s and early 90s. The pictures themselves are not great, but subject is fantastic:

Nycsubway.org is a pretty great website for the hardcore subway geek. I don’t consider myself to be one, but I can have a good time wandering around it looking at the pics. The link to their collection of 1980’s subway pictures, good stuff:

The last link goes to a page where it says there are no images. A mistake or a cruel hoax? You make the call!
