Following up on the Chow Mein-On-A-Bun post, here are a few shots of our Coney Island jaunt this weekend.

First, what the hell is this guy doing?  I love Brooklyn, but this may be going too far.

After strolling on the beach we headed over to grab a quick one at Ruby’s, which remains — for the time being.

We didn’t have any clams at Ruby’s (lovely people, but that doesn’t seem wise).  We did have a couple of beers, which hit the spot.  We passed on the individual serving-size bottles of white zin, as well as the tequila/rum/tabasco concoction some lady was giving instructions to the bartender how to make.

And, lo and behold, there was a protest of sorts going on outside.  Turns out someone had staged a “New Orleans funeral” for Coney Island.  Not sure exactly who it was, but hey, I love New Orleans and funerals, so I’m all for it.

What’s next?  Well, you’ve already seen shots of the visit to Nathan’s, so here are some shots from the BQE on the trip home. Awesome gorilla, no?

And, in conclusion, Bruno for you.  Cheers.

Nice shots and great to see that Ruby’s is open for another season. Sad to think it’s over after this one though. We need to have a summit meeting out there soon!

Love that Bruno sign. I must have half a dozen pics. of it from my wanderings out in Kings County. I can never seem to get a picture that captures what I’m enjoying about it when I spot it.
