Ease on down the road

Sidney Lumet died. Absolutely, undoubtedly a fantastic director. The man made some of my favorite films.

Dog Day Afternoon is close to top 10 ever. “When I’m being fucked I like to get kissed a lot.”

His last movie, 32 years later, Before The Devil Knows You’re Dead, also great.

12 Angry Men. The Verdict (extraordinarily underrated flick that one). Serpico. Murder On The Orient Express, for fuck’s sake.

The guy was good. Real good. I maintain that Network is maybe a little overrated, but that doesn’t take anything away from the dude. Prolific, consistently excellent, extraordinarily focused on New York and its people, what more could you ask?

Oh, and he also directed The Wiz. The dude was fucking awesome. Rest in peace.

RIP. I propose a film festival to honor Sidney.

R.I.P. Sidney Lumet. The Verdict is one of my favorite movies and some scenes were filmed in the Horseshoe Bar. Caitlen Costello!
