A Plague of Frogs

Somewhat improbably, a new frog species has been discovered on Staten Island. The slimy green guys are indigenous to the NYC area–ranging up to Connecticut and out to New Jersey–and are not escaped exotic pets, like the 4 foot long California King Snake that crawled out of some guys toilet, also on Staten Island. WTF!!!

Forget the frog, the snake is the real news. Seeing a goddamn 4 foot long snake crawling out of my toilet, the guy was brushing his teeth at the time, might actually kill me. The closest I’ve come to physically threatening some one was when I learned that the guy who lived upstairs from me and used to keep a menagerie of snakes around just for fun sometimes had escapes. One time, a baby snake escaped and disappeared only to turn up months later and much larger in a neighbor’s apartment. That would not be acceptable, I let him know in no uncertain terms.
