A True Fan

September 24, 2012

Some asshole who confessed to murdering five people at a carwash in Texas was executed last week. I’m no great fan of the death penalty, but it doesn’t seem like there was any question about this dude’s guilt, and that’s not what I’m here to write about anyhow.

What I am here to note for the record is the man’s last words:

“I’m going home. I’m going home,” Harris said. “Don’t worry about me. I’ll be alright. God bless, and the Texas Rangers, Texas Rangers.”

That’s some weird freaky shit. That’s all I’m saying. Craig Calcaterra had a few other thoughts:

Anyway, this is not a new thing for Texas executions. According to the story, several condemned men “have thanked the Dallas Cowboys football team for providing them enjoyment” prior to their lethal injections. So, yeah, priorities are pretty awesome down there.

Um, let’s go Yankees!
